Digital Footprint

Molly’s Digital Footprint Assignment

  • What information should you never post on the internet about yourself?

Credit card number, inappropriate stuff, like inappropriate pictures or swear words, never give any personal information, address, phone number, email, cause you don’t want your identity stolen.

  • How could you protect yourself when using the internet?

Use passwords, check in with your parents for help, with emails and sites. Be careful.

  • How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

It can make it harder when you try to get a job, it would be hard to learn in college, you could get in trouble for it.

  • Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
  1. Don’t post inappropriate pictures, like people in a bathroom, or certain clothing, like inappropriate pictures of drinking.
  2. Don’t write bad words about people, rude comments, swear words.
  3. Don’t give your credit card number, personal health numbers etc.

  • What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

To be careful, you have to watch what you see and say, be careful what you put out there its going to be out there forever, with computers you can’t take anything back. People can see it.

I would sit down and talk to them.
