Lab Chosen: Spanakopitas

For the May Reflection I chose to reflect on the spanakopitas we made. I chose to reflect on this lab because this was something I have never made before. This is a pastry that I have had before and ate many times but I have never made it before, so I found it cool to make the spanakopitas, and see what they taste like compared to the bought ones. I enjoyed this lab, it was one of the longer labs and we were short for time. I enjoyed the process in making the filling and then assembling the spanakopitas with the thin dough and spinach filling. But also the lab was a challenge because I only had two people in total in my group. This was a lab, where I was very happy with the outcome, I was happy with the overall look and taste especially. I did not expect for the spanakopitas to turn out the way they did, because we were short for group members and we had to strategically split up the steps in making the spanakopitas. Also this lab was longer then others especially the assembly, but we ended up coming through and the pastry turned out excellent. For this lab as I said my group only had two people in total. So I felt, for the small group we had we were able to be efficient and finish on time, with a great finishing product. If I was to do this lab again I would hope I would have a larger group to work with I would also try to make the thin sheets of dough by ourselves. Overall this was an excellent lab!
