The process of making the chili took four days. On day one we had to find a chili as a group and convert the measurements to mL, make the servings to a certain amount and balance out the flavours. On day two we had to measure out the ingredients so we were prepared to cook the next day. On day three we had to cook the chili, on this day we learned that it is good to taste the chili after we add each ingredient to make sure the balance is correct, we ended up having to balance by adding more sugar and hot sauce. Day four was reheating the chili and judgement day we created a script.

The name of our Chili is the “Jax-attack because it attacks your taste buds. We added tomato’s to give us strong bones, vitamin A and fiber. We also added beef to give us protein. The spices that we added are cumin, cinnamon, chili powder, brown sugar, oregano, paprika and salt. The brown sugar balances out with the chili powder and made our chili sweet yet still spicy, We added salt to bring out the different flavors in our chili.

I thought we worked well as a group because we each had a job when making the chili. The final product of our chili was great I was happy with the taste, texture and look. Our chili had the perfect balance of sweet and hot and thickness. If I were to do this again I would say that the main thing to remember is you can add ingredients as you make the chili to make it taste to your liking. Something I would change about this cook off is the amount of time we get to make the chili because if we got more time I feel the quality of our chili would be better.
