May Reflexion Lasagna Roll-Ups

I chose to reflect on this lab because for me, it was the most complicated one of the month. Mr. Brett didn’t do a demo, so we had to pay close attention to everything we did. Also, I found that the lasagna rolls-ups were the best tasting lab we have done. Yes, I had a lot of fun cooking the lasagna roll-ups, I enjoyed putting all of the ingredients onto theroll-ups, and I also enjoyed rolling them up. Yes, our product turned out the way that we had hoped, despite the fact that some of the ends of our lasagna broke off while cooking, we managed to make the most of it. I think that the spices we added made it taste really good. Yes, my group worked well together during this lab, everyone did their own job in the lab and we made sure everything got done on time, the lab was harder because we were missing ome person, so we only had 3 people. If I were to do this lab again, I would be careful, so that the noodles don’t break while cooking. I would also lesve out the cottage cheese, as I don’t really like the taste or texture. Overall, I was very impressed with our lab and how our final product turned out.

Great Chili Cook Off Reflexion

When we first started the great chili cook off, I was worried that we wouldn’t have enough time to complete the lab, as our chili needed to simmer for three and a half hours, and we only had 30 minutes to simmer, but in the end our chili turned out just right. On day 1 my group worked well together to find a good recipe, when we found one, everyone was helping to convert it. Day 2 was the demo for the cheese braid, and I was afraid that we would mess up the cheese braid because we had no idea what to do. After the demo my group worked hard to measure out all of the ingredients for the chili cook. We added tomato’s to give us strong bones, vitamin A and fiber. We also added beef to give us protein. The spices that we added are cumin, cinnamon, chili powder, brown sugar, oregano, paprika and salt. The brown sugar balances out with the chili powder and made our chili sweet yet still spicy, We added salt to bring out the different flavors in our chili. The process off cooking the chili went well, and the end product tasted great, I believe that all the spices we added helped to make it taste great. If I were to do this lab again, I would give the chili more time to simmer, so all of the flavors can be brought out.
