Function Notation – Graphs
The way a line moves on a graph can mean different things for the results of an relation or function.
If the line goes up: the y variable increases
If the line goes down: the x variable increases and the y variable decreases
Horizontal: the y variable stays the same
Steep line: faster the change
Shallow line: slower the change
When interpreting coordinates from a function graph the equation looks like this: f(6) = 4
f(6) –> x input
4 –> y input
