Math 10 Week #15

This week, we learnt how to find the slope of a line. The slope of a line is \frac{rise}{run}.

The numbers that we’re using are (3,12) and (2,4). The 3 and the 2 are the x coordinates and the 12 and 4 are y coordinates.

To find the rise, you have to subtract the two y coordinates. 12-4=8 so, the rise is 8.

To find the run, you subtract the x coordinates. 3-2=1 so, the run is 1.

Now that we know the rise and the run, we can put them into a fraction. So, the slope is \frac{8}{1}

The entire equation to get the answer should look like this:
