Extracting DNA

 

During this lab, we did an experiment on DNA.

In one ziplock bag, we mixed salt, banana, soap, water and ethanol. In another bag we mixed them same ingredients, however this time using one frozen strawberry.

After mixing all ingredients and letting it sit for 10 minutes, we noticed that the substance began to grow into a small lump and appeared as if the molecules started to reach towards the top of the test tube.

I believe this lab was very important because we must have an understanding of what DNA is and does, otherwise we won’t truly know, ourselves.
