What I Learned about Grade 9 inequalities
How to check solution: You can check your solution in two ways. If it has an equals to sign then you can do two. You replace the x by putting its value times the number.
Graph inequality: If there is a closed circle it means equal less or more then. If the circle is open then it has to be less then or more then.
What do the symbols mean: There are four symbols. The first one is less than which mean your number has to be less than the number. The next one is greater than were your number has to be greater than. The third one is equal or less than. This means the number has to be less or the same as the other number. The last one is greater or equal than this means that x must be greater or equal to the number.
Inequalities
An inequality is when you have an equation that you have to use one of the four signs.
How to solve+ divide by a negative: When you divide the number by a negative you have to flip the sign.
1 Minute 1 Take- The Sniper
Paragraph:
We were able to created setting by having filters and making the location as realistic as possible. We made a sad filter at the end when the sniper found out that his brother died. Also our location showed that we were on a rooftop and that the sniper was getting shot from the proper angle. We used characterizations by having the narrator speak directly about some of the characters and told you their every move. At the end when the sniper goes to his brother we showed characterization by having him poke his brother to see if he was alive and then he started to cry. We did have all five plot points. The one point we exaggerated the conclusion of the two brothers together. The life lesson of this story is that always know what your doing and be careful with the action that you do. I was responsible for the props and the costumes. Also I did some of the editing. I believe that I exaggerated my movement and when I got shot I made it really look like I got shot. One thing my group could have done better is go through more practice runs and not rush through it. We communicated well as a group because we weren’t scared to ask each other questions and we were ourselves around the class. When you can do that you know that you will have a lot of fun.

Veldt post reading
“The Veldt” Post-Reading Questions Name ____Matej____________ Block _A_____
Please write your answers in complete sentences.
- How would you describe each of the four main characters?
George: Wants a change doesn’t want his kids to be glued to the machines and learn how to live life. He cares about real life and not fake robots.
Lydia: sometimes goes with George but also goes with peter sometimes
Peter: Addicted not willing to change selfish does not care. He is the most addicted to technology and can’t stop.
Wendy: She is a little bit more aware of herself she always goes on her brothers side. She is also really into technology
- What mistakes have George and Lydia made in raising their children? Give examples.
They have glued them to the way of tech and they couldn’t leave it This hopefully will never happen to my kids. They brought them into a world of fantasy and they will never experience in real life.
- Who is parenting the children in the story? Explain.
The technology because the kids only do what the technology wants them to do and the parents get killed when voicing their opinion on the case. The machines changed their mindset and turned their back on their parents.
- What message or moral is Ray Bradbury trying to send his readers about technology? (THEME) Give examples from the story to support this theme.
Sooner or later it will get to you and you can end up in a mental hospital and possibly be killing people. So I think the moral is too not get too attached and to get a life outside of the fake world of technology.
- What conflicts do the characters in the story face? Give examples.
They face themselves because they are fighting with their own families. Also it is person vs technology and they get to the point of being so addicted that technology can kill their parents.
- “The Veldt” was published in 1951. It offers a view of what Bradbury predicted family life and technology would be like around the year 2000. Is it an accurate view? Why or why not? What predictions are correct? Incorrect? What does he leave out?
The prices. He did not know that it is currently unable to make a room that can kill people. But yes he predicted the year that this would happen and also he predicted that kids would get addicted to technology and lose their lives.
What I learned about Grade 9 Equations
What is an equation
An equation is when Then are two math statements that mean the exact same thing. An equation is separated by an = to show that they are both equal
What is an equivalent equation
Equivalent equations are equations that have the same meaning but could be in different form. Fox example 1x=1 and 2x=2 are equivalent equations because when you go to 3x it will be 3 and 4x will be 4 etc
How to solve equations
Algebraically
Algebra tiles
Bfs Brackets fractions sort divide. This is for when you have all four types you need to do them in this order or you won’t get the right answer. The most important step is the first one.
How to check if you are right:
Evaluate the left side of the equation then the right and see if they add up. If they don’t add up then you know you did something wrong.
COL – Community Connection
I interviewed a Youtuber named Chaz Smith and he makes funny videos and make people laugh including me. I chose to interview him because I have been watching him for a while and he is one of my favourite people to ever watch. I learned from him because I want to start a youtube channel and he told me how to get started and to not care at all what other people think about you.

Autobiography in a word
What I learned about surface area
Surface area is the measuring of total area around the shape. The process is just counting all of the squares around the shape.
The formula:
The formula for surface area is the top and bottom are the same so you multiply it by 2 and then you multiply the sides by 4. That will give you your answer. Also you can count the squares and then multiply. A long way of getting it is to count all of the squares one by one. All of this is for a three dimensional object.
The formula for a square is BxH This will always work and get you the answer.
The next thing is removing squares from a 3d object:
When you remove one corner cube the surface area stays the exact same because you still see the same amount of squares when looking from the sides. But when you take away a cube in the middle the surface area actually increases by one. So its pretty cool the way how that works. So sometime when you take it away it stays the same or decreases but when you take one away from inside the middle then it increases.
Chemistry inquiry
Reflection ADL 10:
Define: The challenge that we were faced with is that we had to figure out how chemistry affects our daily lives and how it can help us. We chose how gum can affect the world because we eat gum every day but we needed to find out how can affect us and what it has to do with chemicals. Once we found out how to do that it was smooth from then on.
Discover:
The main type of questions that we needed to ask were the simple ones. For example we needed to find out what gum is made of and why it was made. Next we needed to know why it can affect the world. By doing these simple things we were able to make great questions and get great answers. We did things smart and it worked out for us.
Deliver:
We used a powerpoint type of site to produce and present the knowledge to the teachers. We looked at multiple but this was the best one. The way that we put the information was very clean and neat while looking nice. It was smart of us to use that and present it in the way way that we did.
Debrief:
I honestly think that as a group we delivered our project well and we worked together as a group properly and everyone did their job and chipped in what they needed to and it turned out to an awesome project. I honestly enjoyed working with my group and helping everyone out and making this project and having fun.
