- Total water estimated in the lake
Surface area 9.94 KM^2 x 1000 = 9940 m^2
Average depth of lake 119 m
9940 m^2 x 119 = 1 182 860 m^3 = 1182.86 km^3
estimated volume of the lake is 1182.86 km^3
1m^3 of water = 1000 kg = 1 182 860 x 1000 = 1 182 860 000 kg of water within the lake.
2. The barrier size
Height = 243 m , Width = 2.4 km , Length = Approximately 750 m (no actual website stating length
2.4 km = 2400 m x 750 = 1 800 000 m^2 = 1800 km^2
3. If the dam were to break it would depend n the extent of the break to know as to how much water would come out of the lake. If the entire dam broke almost all of the lakes water would come out, but if only part of the dam broke, for example the top half, only part of the lakes water would come out and much of it would be left in the lake being held back. The dam breaking could cause a large scare and possibly some deaths, but ultimately the cities near the dam have safety procedures to prevent as much damage as possible and they also have emergency flood evacuation routes.
