This week I learnt how to multiply binomials  using the area method :

• First you put the algebra tiles in the right place (the stick represents x, the big square represents x² and small square represents one unit).
• Then you continue the line of each tile
• After you will have to determine if it’s positive (coloured) or negative (blank). The tile will be positive if the two factors that are multiplying have the same sign (++ or – -) or will be negative if they have different signs (+-).
• Finally you write the equation and combine the like terms
