2 Types of Charge

There are 2 types of charges positive (acetate) and negative (vinyl). An acetate strip carries a positive charge when it gets rubbed with a piece of cotton. Vinyl on the other hand gets a negative charge when its rubbed with wool. If two positively charged items get close together they repel. When two negatively objects get close together they also repel. If you put a positively charged item close to a negatively charged item they attract. When you put a neutral object close to a positive/negatively charged  object, the neutral object attracts the charged object.
