For my device holder the design I chose is Snoopy and Charlie Brown. The process to make a rough piece of wood into a nice piece of wood is called Stock Breakout.
Step 1: Cut to rough length (12′ 7/8″) with the chop saw
Step 2: Make one reference edge and one reference side with the jointer
Step 3: Run it through the planer to get the right thickness
Step 4: Use the table saw to cut it to the width you want (3 inches)
