“They leaped like deer on the moon.” (page 180) This is describing the dancing that Harrison and the ballerina is doing. Shows that the mood has changed to happy from the previous dark and gloomy setting.

“… their faces were masked, so that no one, seeing a free and graceful gesture or a pretty face, would feel like something the cat drug in.” (page 176) This talks about equality and how the government has masked peoples differences. It creates a dark mood because it shows how people’s special qualities are covered up so everyone is equal.

“His thoughts fled in panic, like bandits from a burglar alarm.” (page 176) This is showing how it is painful and a struggle to live under conditions like that.

 

Allusion Definition: an expression designed to call something to mind without mentioning it explicitly; an indirect or passing reference.

“He flung away his rubber-ball nose, revealed a man that would have wed Thor, the god of thunder.” (page 179) Thor represents power, strength, and courage and is compared to Harrison when he showed his act of art and beauty. Harrison was trying to bring back diversity.
