I chose this picture because it represents that you need to walk in your own shoes. Don’t let anybody else control your life.

 

I chose this video because it demonstrates courage and being a leader. It shows that the followers are just as important as the leader, especially the first few. It takes confidence to stand up and join in or make a change. I think that this video shows that very well because after the first few followers joined in it became a big celebration and a good time. This video shows that it is okay to put yourself out there and do what you want to do in life.

On April 28th 1910, the first night air flight was performed by Claude Grahame-White in England. This was a major accomplishment because night air flights are used today and are one of the most efficient ways to travel. Both airplanes and night air travel has evolved significantly since that time but this day marks a point in history when it was proven safe to travel in the air at night. Even though there were engine complications with the aircraft, it benefits the world we live in today as we have improved our airplanes therefore making it safe to fly at night. 

On April 28th 1930, the first organized night baseball game was played in Independence, Kansas. It is interesting to me to find out that this happened on this date. I find it interesting because I thought that this event would’ve been held sooner.

The yellow fever vaccine for humans was announced on April 28th 1932, then published in the newspaper on April 30th. The vaccine was and still is important to this day as thousands of people either get infections or die from this disease. Most yellow fever occurrences, infections, and deaths are found in tropical areas Africa. This is because the yellow fever is a disease caused by the bite of a female mosquito, which flourish in the tropical weather conditions. The symptoms include nausea, loss of appetite, fever, chills, headaches, and muscle pains. Some people get stomach pains and liver may damage begin, causing the skin to become yellow. The risk of kidney problems and bleeding increases when this happens. As you can see, the yellow fever is a terrible disease so the announcement of the vaccine created relief and hope all around the world.
