Ballad Poem – Presto

Presto – Ballad

Unusual partners often lead to greed

As was the case with Bunny and fiend

Only one was given credit for their great esteem

The pair was unaware about what would be convened

Locked up, the small bunny, trapped indeed

Has been working his whole life with no acclaim for he

He spots something, a carrot, bright orange and green

But the metal far to strong and his cage too tricky

The man of the hour, presto arrives

He holds a smug look and has egotistical eyes

He heads to his cabinet for the star of his show

Two hats, so powerful for his magic disguise

Presto a man with a shielded heart

Began the show without bunny’s rightful part

And as the magic began to sparkle through the air

Bunny conjured a plan that would go off the chart

Bunny began to bamboozle, bug and burden

Presto was shocked, poked, sharpened, and prodded

His fingers crushed, his eyes squashed

Dear ol’ Presto was vengeful hearted

And with a crash and big smash

Bunny thought the carrot wouldn’t last

The two began a frightful squabble

As presto was lifted with an extruding aghast

As presto lied above so high, the crowd stared in awe

Bunny believed his work was done but his carrot however not

And just like that Presto snapped and began a frightful dive

Bunny, scared but brave as a hare, ran for presto as he was caught

The crowd rose with a blow they cheered for the pair

Bunny sighed, about to cry, as presto changed his heart

He called for Bunny as he was oh so funny

And as he whipped out the carrot as bunny went for it like a dart

Unusual partners often lead to greed

Was no longer the case with Bunny and (no longer) fiend

Both were given credit for their great esteem

The pair was prepared for the greater success to lead
