Propaganda is a word used when a person or a group of people induces fear into others’ whether that is through spreading false information or disingenuous actions. Propaganda usually is related to a particularly political nature and is meant to be misleading. In the famous novel 1984, the inner party uses propaganda to control the average person. They send rocket bombs into the neighborhoods of the lower-class wounding many and killing even more. They social elite also create fake armies to scare citizens into rallying against the common people. In the world of 1984, there is a man nicknamed Big Brother who is at the top of this social hierarchy. He is effectively the dictator of his land and decides what to do and when to do it. Big brother sets up events such as hate week to inspire hate to fuel his nation. 1984 is an example of what could have happened and how propaganda can influence people to do horrible things.
