Some Port Coquitlam students had an Idea in 2005 to promote a week were everyone was kind to each other without expecting to be paid back for their good deeds. Since then, Real Acts of Caring or for short RAC has spread through are very own District No. 43. For my RAC my goal was to try and offer my services any were that I could. I have to say as soon as I started doing it I didn’t want to stop. It made me feel good to make others feel good and that’s what you would call a win win. I was doing something to help someone which made them fell good and in return it made me fell good. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that the only reason that I did this was for me to feel good because that’s not the case. It’s just part of the package. Doing the RAC really opened my eyes. If I saw dishes in the sink I would wash them. It was the small things that I wouldn’t normally do that really opened my eyes. This really helped with my leadership skills because it helped me to pay attention to the smaller details in life. I really enjoy participating in RAC. Its like Remembrance Day and Thanksgiving. Its a thing that you should do not just once a year but every day of your life.
