I really enjoyed the Careers and Conversations Reflection. I found it really insightful and a great learning experience. I was able to talk to five people and learned a lot from them all, but the two conversations that impacted me the most was when I talked to David Romani, and Jay Wu. David Romani is a Graphic Designer, as well as a Tech Ed Teacher at Riverside secondary. He said that he would recommended his job to people my age because schools are always looking for teachers in his area. He said that he loves his job because there’s something new every day. Jay Wu is the director of Precisionwerkz, Architectural Woodwork and Cabinetry. Something that he said that really stood out me was, if you didn’t feel like coming to work don’t come. That’s what he tells his employees because somedays you just don’t feel like getting up and going to work. He says that if you feel that way you will not be focused and you won’t preform to the best of your ability. He says that you will also affect the people around you with your doom and gloom. He said that he loves his job because it’s challenging and pushes him to think outside the box. I learned that soft skills and connections are the most important things to have in the job world because you can learn the hard skills with time. I really found this experience valuable because it forces you to think out side the box so you can come up with the best questions.
