Observing Cells

This is the skin of a Red Onion under a microscope. To me it looks like a planet or scales. You are only able to see cells in are picture.

This is what Brian’s cheek cell looks like under a microscope. Animal cells look like jellyfish in my opinion. The cell structures visible in Brian’s cheek cell are cells and nucleus.

If you were only looking at a plant and animal cell under a microscope you could tell the difference between the two by looking at the sell structure. In an animal cell the cells are very close together where animal cells are farther a part.

We used methylene blue on the animal cell becaus all the cells were see through. That’s why we didn’t use it an the plant cell becaus some were see through were others were purple.

Doing this labe I learned a lot about cells and microscopes. I learned that the Ocular lens has a 10x value and you multiply it to the Objective its on. I also learned that animal cells are further apart then plant cells. I’m curious to learn why animal and plant cells have different distances and what gives them there shape?
