The Transformations Unit in Pre-Calculus 12 has improved my critical, creative, and communication skills. During this unit I was able to use various mathematical skills from previous years to be able to solve problems and questions I haven’t encountered before. I accomplished this by improving my critical and creative thinking as I am able to use sets of steps from previous years which are applicable now by integrating it into this unit. Furthermore, as I haven’t see multiple questions of this caliber before, I communicated with peers and with teachers asking for much needed help to fully understand how to answer these questions. Additionally, my communication skills improved as on the unit test I needed to showcase my understanding of concepts by communicating how I solved a problem or how I interpreted the problem to be able to solve it. In conclusion, I was able to improve all these skills with just one unit of Pre-Calculus 12 showing me the endless ways math is integrated into our society and what skills the course itself can teach me.
