Khan Academy App Review

Define: Currently in science we are learning about electricity, and electricity is very complex and I have a few questions, including some ways to have electricity compared to our daily life, and I believe I can find an interactive app to help me with this.

Dream: Some possible solutions to my problem could be that I can ask a teacher more about the subject, I could ask a friend, a parent, a peer, I can search online, or use an app.

Discover/App: I went to the app store and found a great app, called Khan Academy, the app is free and can be used on iPad, iPhone, and other digital devices.

Review/Deliver: I just opened the app and was able find everything clearly, easily, and effortlessly; as I got a first glance as the app, I was able to find different subjects and their sub-topics. The app had a great tutorial of the whole product, it was very easy to use and find different things, I was able to search up the question I had and I got the chance to learn a deeper understanding of the basics of electricity, and got the chance to learn some terminology and got a mini quiz to see my understanding. The app has many great features including different subjects, videos, drawings, presentations, documents, and quizzes. But some negatives in my opinion are that you have to know some terminology to use this app because you must search or browse in the subjects to find what you’re looking for; and another negative is that it’s homepage shows everything except the “common titles” in my opinion, the titles use more subject appropriate terminology. But this app is one of the best ones I could find, and I’m happy I did find it because I believe I’ll use this app if I have any questions.

Debrief: The quality of this app is great, there are amazing videos and documents and explanations I believe this app can help anyone if they put they put in the effort and determination of learning. I will surely use this app and I believe I can revert these negatives and start using the correct terminology.

How does the app help users build skills or learn content?

Well this app has many ways of helping users build skills and learn content because this app offers different ways of learning by listening and by seeing, which I really like and enjoy. The Khan Academy app is very easy to use, because I recently had a question, and decided to try out the app, I was able to find what I was looking and much more, including a lot of detail about the topic and surrounding the topic. I believe this app can help anyone with the current curriculum and the whole science unit, there is a lot of information for each topic/subject and there is a great way of learning it. I will definitely use this app in the future personally, when and if I ever need to.

How intuitive is the app? Is it self explanatory or does it ake a long time to explain?

This app is very self explanatory because I was able to figure out the app as I just downloaded it. Khan Academy also has a tutorial on how to use the app, which I think is quite useful if you’re having any difficulties; which should not be too many people in my opinion because even if you don’t look at the tutorial, it’s simple to figure out if you use common sense.

What innovative elements does the app utilize?

Well this app includes a different way of learning, not just reading in usual situations, but this app actually shows you and explains with diagrams and drawings to understand the material. The app also has a homepage and splits everything into categories and it doesn’t only include science as it’s only subject there are more subjects for example, math, economics, arts, and more!

I would definitely recommend this app to my peers and others, I believe this app can help you answer quite a few questions, if you were to have any.
