2081 charter of the freedoms and rights

After reading the short story “Harrison Bergeron, ”written by Kurt Vonnegut Jr, is take place in 2081 in United States Of America. The story is talking about in the future everyone is equal, the government trying to make equal society through the use of handicaps. The government let The Handicapper General to control the society. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. The beautiful people must wear hideous masks or disfigure themselves. The intelligent people must wear a little mental handicap radio in their ears. In the story, the government makes amendments and rules to maintain equal society. One of the important amendments is #202 “Every citizens of USA is equal and person who ability has better than average that need to wear handicapped to make same with other people”. This is the most basic condition to make equal society. If nobody wears handicapped at all time, everybody will compete against everybody else. In the beginning of the story, the main character, Harrison has taken away from H-G men, because he is very intelligent. This shows that the second important amendment is #209 “The government has the right to restrict civil liberties, base on individual problem”. The last important amendment is #200 “The government has the right to punish illegal citizens”. Harrison has taken his handicaps away and the Handicapper General shot him. Everyone has to undertake the consequences of the actions. The equal society needs every citizen to maintain.
