After reading the few chapters of “The Cage, ”written by Ruth Minsky Sender, I have a better understanding how life of Jewish people within Ghetto. The Germans restricts the freedom of the Jewish people. The Ghetto was like a cage. Jewish people were helpless, angry, frustrated, sadness and panic. They did not have enough food to maintain their life, they only have bread for each person to support one week. They hardly found a job, so they did not have ability to buy some healthy food, clothes or medicines. There were very few doctors in Ghetto, but they also did not have food to supply for Jewish people. More and more people got sick and many diseases came up, such as malnutrition and tuberculosis. The old people and the disabled people only have one fate that was died, because they had no use for the Germans. The Germans forcibly separated the Jewish family. They took away the adults of some families. The teens could only play the role of mother and father in their family for their young sisters and brothers. The teens of the Jewish family were getting mature faster.
