Now and Then
001 Then and Now Project-1nu1nvd
The similarities that I notice between adolescents “now” and “then” is that music is a great impact on both of them. Although the types of music that they listen to are different, adolescents “now” and “then” both are extremely influenced by music. However, the difference between the adolescents “now” and “then” is the education. Today, students bring their own device and they can work on projects and assignments on their laptops and cellphones. However in the 80s, all their work was done in paper and their resources came from books rather than internet. This shows that we have developed technology extremely well and it is easier for students to get information. However, people think that technology can give some negative affects to students and can interfere with their education. A privilege that adolescents have today is the opportunity to give your opinion in class. In the past, when class started, students didn’t have the opportunity to share their own thoughts on a topic. It was just a teacher talking in front of the class, and giving a lesson. I think it’s because before, teachers thought their goal was to give students a lesson each class so they weren’t aware that letting students share their own opinion was necessary. Adolescents are more expected today because getting into university is extremely important today than before. The expectations that parents have for students these days give pressure to them. I would’ve wanted to grow up “now” because although there were many great things that happened in the 80s, growing up in a community where we are continually accepting those who are different than others is a true blessing.
