Math 10: MathFootball

  1. Explain your process.

First our group decided that we were going to make some pentagons so we broke the spaghetti noodles in half and connected them with marshmallows. But we figured out that it wouldn’t stand on it’s own so we connected them with more spaghetti noodles but it would just get messier. One of the group member said that we can just make a football by mushing all the marshmallows together. So we did and we made a small sticky marshmallow ball. 🙂

2. What did you learn/change?

I learned that the bigger, the less stable it is, and that if we were making it bigger, we need to use 3 sticks at a time so it’s stronger than using 1 sticks at a time.

3. How is this a math problem?

We can see it’s geometry because the definition of geometry is the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs.(got the definition from google: searched geometry definition).
