(Significance) What does the Canadian flag symbolize? How accurate of a symbol for Canada is it?

The Canadian flag consists of the red and white colors and the big red maple leaf in the middle. There is symbolism in both the colors and design of the Canadian flag. The colors symbolizes hope, prosperity, peace, tranquility and neutrality while the maple leaf represents the cultural heritage of the nation and resources of Canada. Canada getting its own flag was significant as it showed Canada was independent from Britain. The maple leaf design we use today is now recognized around the world as the symbol of Canada. I highly believe that our flag is accurate for what it symbolizes. I do believe that our country is peaceful and represents peace very well compared to other countries.
