WW2 Reflection #1

(Cause & Consequence) Using examples from Lesson #1, what conditions seem to bring rise to dictatorships?

The conditions that seem to lead into dictatorship is when the country experiences economic issues and citizens are in desperate need for a leader.  Joseph Stalin in the Soviet Union, Benito Mussolini in Italy, and Adolf Hitler in Germany rose to power as they promised their country to get out of the poverty they were in. These countries did indeed improve the economy at the time, but as they received more power, they began to abused it and use their power for bad things. Countries such as Italy and Germany believed that they were superior to every other country which lead them into becoming more fascist.

  1. I Think You’re Onto Something. It Does Seem Like Economic Despair Seems To Make Countries Vulnerable To A Dictator. I Think It Makes People Look For Hope, And If One Person Is Charismatic Enough To Offer Change, People Might Latch Onto That. It’s Not Necessarily A Formula, But It Seems To Make It More Likely. Stalin Was A Bit Different, But If You Stretch That Timeline Back To The Russian Revolution, He Might Just Be Part Of That Process That Started Back In The 1910s. Hirohito Would Definitely Be Different As His Powers Were Inherited In The Emperor System.
