Week 13 – Pre Calc 11 – the quadratic formula

This week in Pre Calc 11 we were learning about quadratic functions and equations and how to interpret things like the various equation forms that you can use to describe a function we also learned about arguably one of the most important equation form which is the quadratic equation, unfortunately the formula is very long and hard to remember and this is where my mistake comes in

i was doing a question where i was asked to solve – 3x – 10 = 0 using the quadratic formula shown in this photo:

the mistake made was that i accidentally put – 4 bc when writing the formula for my reference so my final answer was -58 when its actually -2 and 5

these are important becuase the quadratic formula is one of the key ways you can solve a quadratic and knowing how to write it is extremely important
