Snow

As I walk along a snow-covered path, I take note that it is the first snow of the season.  I’m reminded of fresh starts and the ability to change.  I see the snowflakes floating gently from heaven to earth.  It is said that snow is associated with rebirth, which makes absolute sense.  Snow has transformed everything around me into something new.  Snow is supposed to represent beauty and tranquility, and I can see why.  Everything is left looking untouched and covered with a blanket of white.  I close my eyes and turn my head up to the sky in complete bliss.  I catch a snowflake on my tongue and its delicacy shocks me.  It shouldn’t be shocking, as snowflakes have always been this tender.  I feel the need to lay down and make a snow angel, but before I do,  I pull myself out of my trance and turn around to face my love.  He has snowflakes adorning his hair and a few strays are scattered across his cheeks.  He gives me a genuine smile and his eyes light up with one, nearly inexplicable feeling; love.  Love is shown clearly in his eyes of pure honey and his red nose is scrunched up,  reminding me of one of the many reasons for my never-ending love towards this pure soul.  Even in the blistering cold, all I feel is warmth with him by my side.  He radiates tremendously peaceful energy making me feel inexplicably safe.  I know I will never love another human the way I love him.  It’s peculiar to think that I haven’t known him my whole life.  Although, I don’t doubt I’ve known him in another life.  I know that if we are ever separated, I will find him again.  His touch awakens me from my thoughts as he entwines our fingers. His hands are rough and calloused and mine soft as silk.  We continue walking along the path and I find myself wondering if anything could be more perfect in this exact moment.  I conclude that it could not and let myself hold onto the feeling for as long as I can.
