Radicals Review
Measurements
I learned how humans started using measurement and how we went from using referents like body parts to using measurements like the metric system, I’ve never really thought about how measurements came to be, but it’s actually quite interesting. One thing that we learned about was the cubit which is an ancient measuring unit which measured length. It is the length of your forearm from your fingertips to the end of your elbow. It isn’t used today but it’s kind of weird knowing that people thousands of years ago actually built working buildings and structures with the cubit unit.
Irrational Number Research
The number e is one of the most famous irrational number, it is also known as Euler’s number. The first numbers in e are 2.7182818284590452353602874713527. e is also equal to 1/0! + 1/1! + 1/2! + 1/3! + 1/4! + 1/5! + 1/6! + 1/7! + … e is a transcendental number which means it is a non-algebraic number. e can be used as a logarithmic. e is also used in continuous compounding which is used to calculate interest. Thanks for reading my brief summary of e is and what it is used for.
