Q1. How might your digital footprint impact your high school experience?
A1. My digital footprint might impact your high school experience by showing teachers who I really am. However, when I searched up my name on Bing I only found good things about me. For example, I found that I was mentioned in a Tri-city news article about the u15 Poco Pirates winning their first ever provincial championship. I was in it because I was playing that game.
Q2. What techniques around digital self-regulation could you use during class time that could contribute to academic success?
A1. My phone can have both positive and negative impacts on my learning. On the positive side, smartphones provide access to lots of information, educational apps, and resources that can enhance your learning experience. Such as Teams, MySchoolDay, etc. They can enable quick research, access to e-books, language learning apps, and educational videos, making learning more engaging and accessible. However, the negative lies in distractions. As phones can easily distract you with social media, notifications, and games, obstructing focus and productivity. Making a balance between using your phone as a learning tool and managing distractions is key to using its potential while avoiding its pitfalls.
Q3. What attributes or characteristics do you have that can contribute to a positive school culture?
I believe that my attributes can contribute to a positive school culture. I would say I’m kind and caring. These can make new students feel safe in school and make them feel respected.
