Exploring Waves Lab

Pulse Wave

A pulse wave is a non repeating wave, therefore it only has one disturbance.

Periodic Wave

A periodic wave is a wave that occurs at regular intervals, and requires more than one disturbance.

Longitudinal Wave

A longitudinal wave is where several rounds of the spring are put closely together and then let go. The disturbance required is always in the same direction of the direction of travel.

Transverse Wave

A transverse wave is where the spring is pulled sideways to create a right angle and then let go. The disturbance is created at the right angle.
