Climate change is one of the main problems facing our generation right now. Rising sea levels, increasing temperatures, and extreme weather patterns are threatening our ecosystems and homes. However, us humans are the main cause of this problem. What can we do to change this before it’s too late?
Discover:
Canada has done many things to tackle the problems that climate change brings us, such as launching the Clean Air Act in 2006, which focused on removing emissions from cars and trucks by finding new, fuel efficient ways of transportation. This helped to remove greenhouse gases from the environment, and it was successful in reducing our carbon footprint as well. Now, in 2020, Canada has goals to reduce our gas and methane emissions, investing money into creating new, efficient ways of transportation, and using renewable energy sources as much as possible.
Dream:
Some ways for us to take action against climate change:
- Use different modes of transportation that don’t emit gases (bicycles, scooters, etc.)
- Stop using single use plastics
- Reduce the amount of meat and dairy that you consume, and opt for vegetarian meals instead
- Educate others on the importance of reducing their carbon footprints
- Reduce your water waste
- Help plant more trees
- Use renewable energy sources as much as possible

Debrief:
I was able to learn new concepts about climate change and see what people are doing around the world to reduce their carbon footprints. I could improve this post by adding more detail to my Deliver, and more information on how you can reduce your water usage. The things I did well on this post were that I was able to add a lot of detail on the Discover part, by showing you what specific steps Canada was taking to prevent climate change.

I was not able to see your post.
I was able to fix it, can you view it now?
I can see your post and it looks great. Excellent explanation of how you used the solution fluency to address water waste. Great work discovering solutions to your issue and sharing the sources of your research and images. You included very effective media showing what your solution looks like. Awesome job. How could the knowledge you gained with this approach help you in the future?
Wow your blog is amazing! Seeing the numbers really puts into perspective how wasteful we really are. Seeing your solutions is motivating because of how easy it is to reduce our water waste. My question is how many people will it take to reduce our water waste and really make a difference? 🙂
Thanks for the comment, and I believe it would take a very large amount of our population to make a difference because we use a lot of water, and reversing that would take almost everything we’ve got, but I still believe it’s possible!
I enjoyed looking through the slide portion of your presentation, I thought that the media component worked really well. I think that you could try to be a bit more specific in the actions that you will take to contribute to the solution. For example, you mentioned educating the public as a possible course of action – would you do this through social media, or maybe a series of videos? Overall, the blog looks great. Thanks for posting!
I think creating a social media post would be most effective, in order to reach a larger audience since everyone is on social media already. Thanks for the comment and feedback 🙂
