Week 6 – Math 10 – Polynomial Operations

Am only going to explain am only going to explain how to classify polynomials

There are four words that can describe a polynomial

Monomial = 1

Binomial = 2

Trinomial = 3

Polynomial = 4 or more

Here’s an example of a Binomial

Example: X + 4

this is considered a binomial because there are two different numbers in it, now a going to give you a few questions so you can see if you understand, something else I should tell you if you see a number like 2x it is monomial because it is technically one number

Question 1: 3x

Answer: Monomial

Question 2: 2x + X + 2

Answer: Trinomial

Question 3: 3xy – 2x – XY – 2 + 1

Answer: Polynomial
