1c.)Fujishima discovered the Photocatalytic properties of Titanium Dioxide for the Honda-Fujishima effect. The actual mineral was discovered hundred of years before but it is unknown who discovered it.

1d.) Since Titanium Dioxide is non-toxic, it is used in many common cosmetic products such as sunscreens, lipsticks, body powder, etc.

1e.) The mineral, titanium dioxide, is considered to be the most popular natural whitener

2c.) Wilhelm J. Kroll was the first to discover Titanium tetrachloride when looking at elements one day in his study

2d.) There are no common uses for titanium tetrachloride because it is highly toxic and any contact with the mineral can cause irritation all parts of the body

2e.) It is found in meteorites, and in some types of stars.

G.) I like Titanium dioxide better because it useful for many different products around the world instead of being highly reactive like the Titanium tetrachloride

1.)The forest had a higher species richness because the forest had 6 different species and the forest only had 5

2.) According to the Simpsons Index the forest is more diverse

3.) No because each site either has a high number of species and high diversity or a low number of species with a low diversity

4.) We need to conserve the environment since when we ruin all the plant life it lowers the biodiversity and destroys our earth.

Conclusion: The forest was much more diverse than the field, since there were more species in the forest and the number of those species were greater than the grass fields’.

Mount Stromboli

Mount Stromboli has been an active volcano for over 2000 years now and still to this day. It is a small island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the north coast of Sicily. Mount Stromboli is a stratovolcano since it is a volcano built up of alternate layers of lava and ash. In the photo presented above mount Stromboli is erupting. image

Element discovery

The name of the element I received is called gold also known as the symbol “Au”, and has the atomic number of 79.

Gold has 79 protons and electrons and has 118 neutrons. It is a transition metal.

Theres is no clear cut answer to who discovered gold and how but it has been around since the Chalcolithic or Bronze Age.

78% of gold is used for jewellery because it is a beautiful and durable metal. Gold is also used for finances and investing since it is rare to find a high key valued.

Gold is the only metal that is yellow without being oxidized or reacted with any other chemicals. Also the symbol “Au” comes from the Latin word “aurum” which means “shining dawn” or glow of sunrise because it is a beautiful shiny yellow.

1.State the problem of this experiment: not enough materials
2.State your hypothesis for this experiment: I think that the marshmallows will fall off

4.What was your thinking/reasoning behind the design of your boat? We wanted air inside of our boat so it can float and even,y distribute the mass
5.What would you keep/change on your boat design if you were to do this again? I would make the surface area for the pennies larger
