Heroin-Drugs

Heroin.

What is it?

Heroin is a drug that is synthesized from morphine but is collected naturally from an asian poppy seed plant. Many people use this drug. From a survey taken in the States, it shows that as many as 4.2 Americans aged 12 or older have used this drug at least once in their life.

How does it affect us?

This drug is very bad for us. See when in enters our brain it is heroin but then turns back into morphine which binds onto molecules of cells in our brain that are found in many parts of our brain. They are called opioid receptors. They are mostly found in the pain and pleasure part of our brain. But also in the brain stem which controls many things, especially respiration. After injected the user will feel a “rush”, but also a dry mouth, flushed skin and clouded mental functioning. Overdose is a thing that occurs not usually but on occasion.

This drug can cause many things. But what causes the user to take it. Well it can be either for that “rush” or because of a state of depression. Many turn to drugs because of depression. Its wrong and that needs to be changed in the world. There are always people around us that can listen and help us understand what needs to be changed in our lives to help us. But drugs isn’t the solution, drugs dont help us, they kill us.
