Blog log #2 – Breathe a Little Easier

The thing that interested me about the content of the article was the topic. The topic was about friendship and understanding a little portion of what our purpose in life is. The article suggests that success in life is not about “… growing up, having kids, or being a millionaire.” But it is about being in the moment, celebrating life and serving other people to help them “breathe a little easier.” I have seen many movies where the goal of someone’s life is to become wealthy or create a family, but I have not seen many films where the goal is to just live a happy life by helping others. The article also explains how we don’t appreciate something until we have lost it. This is extremely accurate and relevant to people’s lifes today in a world where everything is instantaneous. I liked how the author gave insight on the details of his life ranging from the best moments to the worst.

Blog Log #1 – Connection

For this blog log, I chose the topic of music because I wanted to see different people’s perspectives around the theme of music. What got me leaning into this particular essay was the title itself: A Strange Connection. Right from the very start of the essay, there was extremely rich and insightful imagery that automatically hooked me in. I felt that I could easily relate to the writer because I too have gone into a music store, and really observed the atmosphere. There is something truly special about walking into a music store and seeing people of all different ages trying out a new instrument or giving their experienced advice to someone else. Similar to the writer, my own music journey has lead me to make many connections with several different people. It has even gotten me to guide other members of my family to join in on this wonderful journey. This essay certainly proves that there are thousands of people just like the writer and myself, creating connections that will last a lifetime.
