The constructive interference creates a bigger wave when two crests/troughs collide together

When a crest and a trough collide, the waves will work against each other and cancels each other out – it disappears

Q: How do noise-canceling headphones use wave interference to eliminate unwanted sounds?

The headphone acts as a wall, meaning that the music playing inside the headphones and the outside noise are different (Crest and trough), and they cancel each other out, reducing the noise generated from the collision.
