Social media cases

A man in Vaughn ontario posted on twitter that he was looking for marijuana in the area. He was on his shift working at mr.lube. The local police station then tweeted back and asked if they could come. The man was then fired from his job but was not arrested because he technically did not commit a crime. The man was upset because he believed that he should have the right to free speech without being fired. The company then stated that they didn’t want their employees attempting to do illegal acts while at work. I think it was the right descision to fire the man because he was attempting to commit an illegal act. Even if he didn’t commit the act he was trying to. It doesn’t matter if you post something that isn’t actually doing something illegal, but that some people might believe you were trying to commit an illegal act.
