South African Storm
This quote is supported by her thesis and essay, because throughout the essay you see her do the small things to keep the “darkness (racism) at bay”. Allison is trying to provide small acts of kindness to those around her in an effort to stop the racism. A good example of this is when she is talking to the women in their language, and not the native language of the Caucasian people in South Africa. It was just something small that she did, but it meant something bigger to her in the long run. The smaller things she can do for the people here, the more it will affect the racism where she lives. Therefore, she feels bad getting in the car. Even though it was something small, it had an affect on racism the wrong way in her eyes.
