Internal political problems
Double majority- this meant that the laws would almost never get passed since both canada west and Canada east had to get majorities for the laws to pass. It is very unlikely that both groups would have the same majority.
Independents- they didn’t have to answer to anybody. They could topple a government by voting against one of the bills.
Equal representation vs proportional representation- Equal representation causes larger population places to suffer because laws will affect lots of people not like in smaller populating where there is not many people to be affected.
Proportional is unfair for the small population because only large population areas will get their say on the laws.
