Indigenous Podcast – “Far From Home”

Explanation:

In this project I tell the tragic story about Caitlin Potts case. The objective of this project was to shine light onto the many forgotten stories of the missing and murdered Indigenous women. Since I decided to do this project alone It was quite difficult to cover such a heavy subject but I did my best that I would cover this story properly. The first thing I worked on was the research which was quite easy as there was an abundance of information all over the internet. The second thing I worked on was the cover which I’m very proud of. I thought the polaroid photos and tape added effect to the cover. The second  thing I would work on was the script which was personally the hardest part of the project. I wanted to make the script perfect so I could make this podcast the best I could and it was difficult to think of things to say but I pulled through. Lastly I worked on speech and editing, speaking was quite easy when I didn’t stutter but, I don’t know I felt about the way I spoke since it sounded like I was tired rather than serious. editing was easy since I knew audacity well, all I did with editing was add music, a video of Caitlin’s mother and did some noise reduction to remove noises from the fans of my computer. I’m proud about how my podcast went and I’m glad I had the opportunity to work on this. This was a great project that let me learn about this tragic stories and really opened my eyes towards discrimination and hate crimes against indigenous people.
