Tech Team Project

For this year the new ideas for the stream team is to spend a lot more time in preparation for the events we need to stream. We want to be able to have intermission slides and if it is a sporting event we want to show the score on stream.

b) Answer the following questions:

– What problems might we run into?

Some problems we may run into are issues with sound and issues with connection and dropping frames while streaming. As well as issues with battery charge. These issues are unfortunately out of a control a lot of the time but there are ways to work around some of them. Such as streaming from areas with a strong connection, and lowering the quality of the stream to avoid dropping frames. On top of these issues from last year we have ran into issues with the laptop crashing and needing updates.

– What skills do we need to complete this project? How can we attain these skills?

Being able to setup for a stream and being able to start the stream using OBS. Other skills may also include an ability for Photoshop so that we can make intermission slides.

c) Create a brief timeline of key things that need to happen to ensure successful completion of your project. What happens next?

We set up obs on the laptop, do a test stream with the camera, and be ready to stream anything that is needed to be stream. We also need to check for updates on the laptop in a day advance before the stream.

What are the strengths?

I think some of the strengths of the divi builder is that it gives a lot more creativity to the blogs and allows us to format it a lot better. For example this blog that I am doing right now I have made 3 different columns to better organize the post. I also like the amount of options it gives for each column, I could add a picture if I want or text or even put in a line of code if I wanted.

What are the weaknesses?

I think that some of the weaknesses are in its difficulty when it comes to using it. I was trying to edit my about me page and ended up putting in a whole different website in it. I also don’t like how its make the blogs more complicated if we were to add this as a necessity for students to use.

How can this plugin be used in a classroom setting to enhance student learning? Would you use it and/or recommend it?

I think this plugin should only be used in classrooms that have students that are good at technology such as IT classes. It enhances blogs but for what students at our school currently need to do it just makes it more complicated. I don’t recommend it.

All in all Divi Builder is a really great way to format your blog if you have prior experiences in using website builders but if not it just adds clutter and complications to edublog.

Sentence :On a Friday night in summer my brother invited me to a Subaru meet in Burnaby.

Phrase: I kept driving.

Words: Summer, Subaru, Driving.

I chose the words because both driving and Subaru’s are a pretty big part of my identity and summer is when I got my Subaru.

The importance of this words tell me how I can use them in a poem to give the poem a deeper meaning.

From this exercise I can learn how to use an object as inspiration for a poem or a story.

English 11 Reflections

This year in English 11 I got a better understand of different identities. Coming into this semester I didn’t really believe in personal identity and didn’t really know what mine was, but after the identity unit I now realize that everyone has their own identity that they should be proud of.  A new skill I learned was how to use colons and semi colons in sentences. I did’t enjoy the Fahrenheit 451 unit too much as the book never really grabbed me and I often found it confusing to follow. I also found the movie Dead Poets Society to be a little bit boring but it was still worth the watch because the movie has a good meaning.
