Food 12 September reflections-Mom’s Apple Pie Jam

I chose to do my reflection on the Mom’s Apple Pie Jam. It was very interesting to learn about different food preservation methods. Not only does jamming allow food to last longer, it can be used in a versatile way! I enjoyed the lab because it was relatively simple to do. It was good to see how everything came together in the end. The product turned out the way I have hoped for. I think the fact that our group worked effectively together allowed us to execute this lab very well. We finished in time, with a good product. Our group worked very well and efficiently together during this lab. Everyone had a task at hand and everyone was very capable of completing their job. No issues came up during the lab, and it was a breeze to work through the lab because everyone was awesome at their jobs. I think that we could blitz the apples so that it becomes much finer. This allows more flavour of the apple to be present in the jam, as well as have a better texture when consuming the jam. Also, i would add a bit more of pectin as it turned out a little watery than I expected it to be.

If you put the jam in the fridge, it will become far less watery. Very good reflection, John!
