Ironchef was a very interesting assignment. It allowed room for improvizing and creativity so I enjoyed it very much. I enjoyed it because our group made some amazing food which included the kale pesto pizza, as well as the squash slices with pureĆ©. Our group worked very well together and our decision process was by showing the group an idea, and seeking their approval. We were agreed with each other very well and I was happy that everyone was willing to look at opinions. We looked on websites for inspiration of recipes. However, we measured out as we went and mostly portioned it by feel, rather than sticking to numbers. This allowed a better turnout than expected because we were able to customize the dish to our needs. I am pleased on how we came to the recipe because both dishes were very tasty and appealing as well. If I were to do things differently, I would make a more efficient group, by giving out roles and that way we can focus on our task and lessen the burden on some people. Also, I would’ve added more of the pureĆ© on the plate because the judges enjoyed how it complimented the squash slices. Time and ingredients did not restrict the decisions, but rather gave us a starting point and a basis to work off of. This allowed us to build around the main ingredient of the dish, which was easier than coming up with a whole new dish altogether. I believe it did not affect the groups dynamics. In terms of time restraints, it was not a limiting factor as our recipe was within the time limits. Overall, it was a very enjoyable project as it allowed for some creativity and fun while making very delicious dishes.
