My third blog log post is titled Bad times can make you bitter or better, and it is written by Craig Impelman. It is about how when hardships come our way, we should use it to grow as people. The content drew me in because everyone faces hardships everyday. It drew me in because the title made me wonder what the strategy was to make bad times better. Since hardships are apart of everyone’s life, if this article was able to turn bad times better, it would be very impactful to everyone. I enjoyed the stylistic choice by the author because there was a sense of hope and encouragement. It felt like the blog post was reassuring that we will be able to get past adversities and come out as a bigger and stronger individual. I enjoyed when Jay Carty compared hardships with lifting weights. Although when one is lifting weights, one faces hardships. However, after the workout, they have gained strength. By making weights represent adversities, it gave me a visual representation of how one gets through hardships. I enjoyed that the tone in the writing had a sense of hope. I can make a connection in my life, because I face trials and tribulations. However, if I have a different outlook on hardships, then there is a possibility that those adversities will shape me to be who I am in a positive way.
