Governing Quebec Paragraph

“As a British official, I realize there are many alternatives to governing Quebec. I have chosen the policy of Maintaining the Status Quo to ensure the colony is properly run”. By maintaining the status quo this will bring about good relations with the French and the Natives, as they will be able to keep their language, culture, and religion but still be in British control. This will bring a good relationship which will mean they will not be a threat to the thirteen colonies or our other settlements as they would have no reason to be hostile. They would still learn their language and their culture but we would still keep control of their land taking a portion of what they have but letting them keep enough to live a normal life. This way we would still be getting a profit from the land and they wouldn’t be a threat to us. Another way we could keep control is having them learn English and English culture as well as the French language and culture so that they can communicate with us and so we can then work with them and have peace. This way we gain resources, profit, land, and peace with the French and Natives.“As I have outlined above, I believe the best policy for governing Quebec is to Maintain the Status Quo. This will ensure that the colony will remain under British control and provide wealth for our glorious country.
