Hello!

I hope you all had a good first day back to school yesterday and getting back into the routine…

*Reminder:  “To Kill a Mockingbird” Test on Thursday January 5th

Narrative/Descriptive Writing:

-Story starters:  You are to choose one of the story starter topics below.  You will have 20 minutes to do  a free write on the topic that you choose…remember to use descriptive details in your writing.

  1. You come home from school to find a box on your porch. What’s inside?
  2. There is a magic swing at the park that will take you to…
  3. You become a character in your favorite video game, and…
  4. At the mall, you walk by a mannequin that looks just like you. Something odd is happening…
  5. You find an old photo of your grandmother, and see that she was a famous actress…

-Descriptive writing: describe the attached famous photo….you can be creative and write a “story” to go with the photo.

-Inquiry:  Pathways to a theme.  !Taking a look at “To Kill a Mockingbird”…you are to choose an inquiry question (or two!) and connect the novel to the inquiry we’ve worked on over the semester.
