I spoke to Kevin Chang. He is a chef at Sushi U in Burnaby. It is a Japanese restaurant. He inspired me during the conversation because he is passionate at his job and he loves to do his work. He always thinks about new menus and customer’s thought. However, he does not dislike his job. He loves to think those things. That is why I was inspired by him because I want a job that I always like to do, so I will not be sick of a job. I did not hear about a career that I would consider doing because a chef is a job that I consider. The soft skills that is required for this job are communication with employees and customers, positive attitude, and initiative motivation. I possess a positive attitude and initiative motivation. However, I want to improve my communication skill because I cannot work with other people, if I do not have an enough communication skill to communicate with other people for a project, or a task. I would go about trying to improve this skill by talking with other people and listening a lot. The hard skills that is required for this job are making sushi, remembering about each kind of fishes and cooking fishes. I do not possess any of these skills. I think I am able to gain the skills needed for this career, if I want to. He took 2 years to do everything perfectly. I found the Careers & Conversations morning a valuable experience because I had a chance to interview a person about a job, and I realized what I need to improve and what I need in a real life.
