Some leading climate change causes in the Maritimes are human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and the conversion of land for forestry and agriculture, not only in the Maritimes but all around the world. Burning fossil fuels produces carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas which makes the earth warmer. Burning fossil fuels, transportation, and electricity all contributes to the amount of carbon released to the earth’s atmosphere. There are ways in which carbon can removed from the atmosphere and one of them are trees. Trees takes in carbon and makes it apart of them by the process of photosynthesis but deforestation takes away the ability to remove carbon from our atmosphere.
The impacts that can cause on the Maritimes is that as our temperature gets warmer, it will lead to higher sea levels, floods and more extreme storms. In Nova Scotia, most of their population lives along the coastline which leaves them vulnerable during storms or floods as they will have some diffculties recurperating from the damage.
Not only floods and storms affect Nova Scotia, the marine animals in the ocean are also in danger. As the water gets warmer, marine animals such as salmon, capeline and cod are vulnerable to competitors and parasites. This will lead to the fishes migrating to cooler places and will eventually reduce the food supplies for the Maritimes.

Very good drawing showing a great understanding of biotic/abiotic factors, the four spheres, and how carbon flows through it all. Your paragraphs show that you comprehend the possible causes and effects of climate change in your region. You could consider adding more information about the amount of carbon stored and moving in your region. Great work citing your sources.
